It's not a criticism. It just tickled my funny bone, because I find you are the most anal retentive of Holden facts and the like.

I do agree, you put yourself (car) in into a concours class. You will never, ever please all the experts or free them from opinions.
Now you are getting closer. I am very much that way with historical stuff and facts, hence why I love survivor cars. It is why I have my Prem. But I have much less interest in concours restored stuff. Put your old BBC van next to a concours restored one, and a ratty old but untouched example, i'll be all over the ratty one, then onto yours from a personal interest perspective and wow factor. The restored one is of little interest other than to appreciate the volume and quality of work, and to like it for what it is. I suppose the best way to explain it is knda like standing in awe of the collaspsed temple of Zeus at Olympia versus standing looking up at a brand new skyscraper. I must have walked around the temple for an hour, but a 30 second look at a tower followed by "that's impressive" and move on.
I must admit though that I do like modified cars to appear stock, not into lowered, big wheels, things hanging out of bonnets and dodgy fitting stuff, but that is just me. I'd happily buy someone's concours resto attempt on a HQ Sandman and replace the driveline with GenIII and 4L65E, but have that all hidden.

Yeah well times change and so do tastes etc. The photos of my cars are like I pointed out 1990 and 1994 (some time ago now). The Torana was a advert for my performance shop and the BB HQ was the work truck (neither had bad body modifications). Today I choose different but I have never really been into flares and add on's as such. I suppose I sit somewhere inbetween. I now like modified cars that look like they could have been factory had the manufactures gone that way. The older I get the more comfort I desire. Hence my Van "Innuendo".

I have to agree with times and taste changing. I used to be OK with modified bodies, wide rims etc but never liked flares, spoilers etc. Now I like original appearance, but don't give a stuff about what is hidden unless it is a survivor car or some sort of special eg a styling car.
Comfort and safety are good. This is why I have a 2011 SR5 and not an old 70's tonner as an everyday driver. And also why I prefer autos today.
