3spd was standard behind 253 on all V8 models (or if 253 optioned after HQ) from the start of HT until the end of HZ except where auto was standard eg HJ-HZ Premier, or 4spd standard eg GTS.
3spd is actually better than 4spd in a tonner for low speed stuff as reverse is a lot lower than a V8 M20
