The Zinc material that they are being made from is the same gear used when you do a patch repair for fix rust etc. It welds ok. Will spot weld fine also if you wanted to do it this way.

I was thinking zinc would be best. But maybe that would put people off. Can do it from black no worries if its thought to be a better option?
