We sometimes get truckies on our UHF channel. There is the standard farm UHF in the kitchen and it gets a little frustrating when they start swearing.
Your right about a time and a place stickthis. I usually find the time and place fairly often!

    Swearing.

I agree with Jennie, I worked for local government as a plant operator for 24 yrs, so I know all the word's. But I never carried on in public or with women or kid's around, that's wrong.

I found the same thing, you have to turn up the UHF to hear it properly with the window down, next thing you know you have to turn it down because of the language.

I agree the F and C words should be stifled in public although with the amount of movies being released where the F word gets thrown about a lot it tends to say to our younger generation it is Ok to use that word in general conversation.

Censorship is a slippery slope and we may find a lot of movies and even books could follow. This swearing law did not dictate particular words as tabboo but swearing in general which I understand to include .... shit, bloody, bastard etc.

So, if you are walking along the footpath in front of shops and kick your little toe on a table out the front you had better have a quick look around for a lurking Policeman before jumping up and down saying "holy shit that bloody hurt"....:errf:

I was under the impression that the fines are for 'public nuisance' and not for 'swearing', so unless you would be charged with public nuisance before the change then you have nothing to worry about.
