Good onya Dave...wouldve been a great feeling

Cost of resto would differ depending on the standard of the end product too. Obviously concourse resto would be much higher than a 'get it on the road' resto.

Crazy? You did it the smart way. Buy it with panel and paint done and ready to drive.

Haven't touched the engine in mine yet, so far the body and paint cost 18K all the other stuff has cost 16K.
The van cost 16k so 50k to get it to where it is now. When I find an engine with the right dates on it I will budget about 10k on that.

Spent $17,500 on paint panels carpet and hoodlining at Prestige Panel and Paint in Bendigo. Castlemaine Rod Shop referred me there when I bought the Supra 5 speed kit with hydraulic clutch for $4,500. Reco p/s pump and box was about $1,200 and I spent about $300 on seats. Parts and machining to reco the 308 to run on Gas was $5,500. Rares was just shy of $3,500 for trim bits, engine mounts, wheel nuts etc, etc, etc. So add new exhaust, twin gas tanks etc and we are up at around 30 - 32K. Add the 3,500 for original purchase Sold it for $30K Will definitely do this again.
