What Mb/sec rate CF cards are you blokes using with the 5D MarkII? They aren't cheap and I guess using the minimum requirement ould be the price pointway to go. I don't tend to take photos at anywhere near full frame rate. I've always carried 3-4 2Gb or 4Gb CF cards for the 400D, so I guess 2-3 8Gb or 16Gb would be the go? 8Gb 30Mb/s cards are about $25 each on Ebay from Aus stock.

I have a few 16Gb SanDisk Extreme's 60 mb/s and a 90mb/s. One died on me late last year but they are generally very reliable. I picked mine up in HK they were a lot cheaper there than here in Aus or online.
Agree if you are not shooting for high frames per/s then a 30mb/s card might be right for you.

Yes, I use Lexar Profressional UDMA 16GB 600x Compact Flash Cards. Be very careful buying CF Cards on ebay. Make sure you are dealing with an approved seller. Been caught on these before.
Also check your cards with H2testw.exe software for real speed. Punch "H2testw.exe download" into Google/Bing etc. Transfer rates to PC via Reader also. I had to change to Firewire and USB3 Readers.

I notice that Lexar Profressional UDMA7 16GB 1000x Compact Flash Card are now available at around $150-$200 per card. Pretty sure I paid around $225.00 each when I purchased the Lexar Pro UDMA 16GB 600x versions.

    Lexar Profressional UDMA7 16GB 1000x Compact Flash Card = 150Mb/sec
