I'm in agreeance on red on these, it was too red. I don't mind red on say a HK GTS or an XA GT. Alien it was a ute, not a canopy conversion. I just saw the thread title too, says VYII, mine was a VY. I think there was a bigger colour choice in VY II, but don't have a brochure.
