    Wasn't that more about Drifters in that thread Mauser?

    --- Updated ---

    Sundowners are apparently JG47 prefix on the id plate.

    I bought an XC panel van (we suspect it may have been a GS) without the barn doors several years back. I had plans on creating a Sundowner look-alike. That didn't go through due to other reasons and sold it. I was actually suprised with how fast it sold. The guy that bought it had plans of turning it into a Sundowner look-alike himself. I have to admit, those Ford Sundowners (not escort) panel vans are mighty fine looking machines!

    Hi.
    To identify a xc sundowner, the model code number is 45684, which is before the engine and trans codes.
    xd sundowner 45984
    45681 = xc "std" van
    45683 = xc "500" van
    45981 = xd "std" van
    45983 = xd "GL" van
    It's night time and their is a light drizzle, across the road parked under a street light is a xc sundowner, painted onyx black
    no decals, no windows, 351, toploader, disc brake lsd 9 inch, lowered two inch's and sitting on 15x8 US racer with comp t/a
    you look down at your hand and you have the keys.( o well, I build one like that )
    It's pity Ford didn't make their bodies as strong has their drive trains.
