Is this an insult or what

I was at the paint shop over the weekend painting the WB ute. I picked up a PPG Trade magazine and this was on the front cover. The magazine is called The Refinisher.

The article goes on about reviving Holdens legendary Sandman panelvan from the 70's.
    I hope the link works.

Why would you think it an insult?

Personally I don't like it. But if they wish to draw reference to the old '70's Sandman then that's perfectly acceptable.
They just want to draw you into a time, place and feel. To plant a seed of thought in your head about the good times that could be had etc.

Some people want that feeling with something made this century. It's no biggy, don't like it - don't buy it or buy into it.

I'm almost scared to say it, but I like it, why not.

Sometimes the whacky ideas are the ones that create the most controversy.....thus generating interest. More of a delivery style van than a Sandman

That's pretty cool. Let's face it, sequels and redesigns are what's "in" at the moment. Current generation couldn't come up with an original idea if it was taking a whiz on their face.

Perhaps it's an idea of today's sandman? Looks much better than those ugly canopies on the back of utes and it might keep the average Golden Retriever contained.
