I dont mind green HJs at all....for me the colour works with the stripes

I got in contact with the owner and hes not interested in coming on the forums and sharing any details or stories of the van. Initially he had it advertized for 30K. Wouldnt drop the price anymore if i was him....pretty clean sandy

Green is pretty much the ultimate colour on a HJ Sandman in my opinion. It's a great combination with the black stripes.
Actually most of the HJ Sandman colours look right. It went off course with some of the HX/Z goordy colour range. I'd be removing the quad light front and replacing it for the correct version.

The small tag "F" looks a bit "iffy".

Agreed it's a nice Sandman Van and priced pretty right.

I'd like to see photos of the rear and complete side shots. Worries me that they are not shown. Could have side windows at the rear?

I'm with Innuendo, you'd have to replace that ugly twin headlight panel to make it original and pretty!

I never said anything positive about the colour, I was saying the van was good value even despite the colour. Even better for those that like the colour! I would buy that before a nicer colour 253 or manual any day though, and respray in a nicer colour when I redid the nose back to a twin headlight front.

I love the twin headlight front, I am the second owner of a Mandarine red hj ( i have had it longer then i would like to admit ) but it had the twin head light front fitted from the previous owner. I would never dream of changing it back. I have done some terrible things to her over the years like removed the murals, painted it white, fitted a bullbar, a higher diff, 3 or 4 gearboxes & at least the same amount of motors.
She is sitting patiently in the shed waiting for her turn to be returned to her former glory.Which i think is murals, twin headlight front ect.
The stripes were in the never put on & the original owner had them when i brought her, but i couldn't even be bothered getting them off him @ the time.
She is decked out in red velour, with the standard 80's sunroof. (over the back not the cab). All this will stay, now some people will agree & some would think i'm a little bit silly, But my van was being customised 10 mins after it left the dealers.
    So it's all personal taste.
Back on the subject i think that is a very nice van @ a good price, anyone seriously looking for a J would have to go check it out. I have restored a couple of cars now, & the colour comes well down on the list (imo) on importance. But a nice factory colour can also be a bonus.
Any of these cars, in thier original warpaint look awsome & will always get plenty of attn. Some good but not always.

    Chees Vic.

If you are into modified Vans (like me) the quad light front is fine (and also popular). If you are trying to get maximum value and effect from a Sandman then factory standard is the go.
If I was to purchase this Van I personally would return it to factory spec.

    ect vs etc
