I never said anything positive about the colour, I was saying the van was good value even despite the colour. Even better for those that like the colour! I would buy that before a nicer colour 253 or manual any day though, and respray in a nicer colour when I redid the nose back to a twin headlight front.

I love the twin headlight front, I am the second owner of a Mandarine red hj ( i have had it longer then i would like to admit ) but it had the twin head light front fitted from the previous owner. I would never dream of changing it back. I have done some terrible things to her over the years like removed the murals, painted it white, fitted a bullbar, a higher diff, 3 or 4 gearboxes & at least the same amount of motors.
She is sitting patiently in the shed waiting for her turn to be returned to her former glory.Which i think is murals, twin headlight front ect.
The stripes were in the never put on & the original owner had them when i brought her, but i couldn't even be bothered getting them off him @ the time.
She is decked out in red velour, with the standard 80's sunroof. (over the back not the cab). All this will stay, now some people will agree & some would think i'm a little bit silly, But my van was being customised 10 mins after it left the dealers.
    So it's all personal taste.
Back on the subject i think that is a very nice van @ a good price, anyone seriously looking for a J would have to go check it out. I have restored a couple of cars now, & the colour comes well down on the list (imo) on importance. But a nice factory colour can also be a bonus.
Any of these cars, in thier original warpaint look awsome & will always get plenty of attn. Some good but not always.

If you are into modified Vans (like me) the quad light front is fine (and also popular). If you are trying to get maximum value and effect from a Sandman then factory standard is the go.
If I was to purchase this Van I personally would return it to factory spec.

    ect vs etc

I had a Mint Julip Windowless HJ that I ended painting a different shade, still over in WA as far as I'm aware and owner occasionally frequents this site - 'RANDEE'

Good value with this factory driveline I reckon, depending on condition of course. I don't mind the mods being twin front and mirrors, I'd do these myself Been for sale a few months now, curious as to why it hasn't moved?? I guess green isn't everybody's cup of tea, or maybe the condition isn't that great???

No not a big spend. Was about 15 years ago and I was fairly well connected in the industry so mates rates on the things I couldn't do myself. Sold it unfinished with panel and paint done and reco 308/TH350 (not running) but interior needing doing. Dude spent a heap more on it.

When I bought it, it was sitting in a paddock and had chooks living in it! I was going to do a quick job on I and keep it as a surf bus but before I knew it I had the body off the chassis (about 10 mates lifted it off and rolled the chassis out) and striped and replaced every panel. Painted it in 2k Kermit Green.
