Thanks for the offer on another project. Might drive this for a while before starting anything else. Also there are a few more bits to go yet before she is totally finished

    Van-bloody-tastic mate!!!!!!!!!

Holden would be extremely jealous of the fact that they never built one this good.

I love every inch of it and you've raised the bar for everyone else. If there were no other reason for us all to head straight out to the shed to improve our vans, then you've now given us one now.

It's a pity it's finished, I've enjoyed every post and feel like I've been a part of the build.

Congratulations on building the most beautiful Sandman I've ever seen. I look forward to the day I see it in the flesh and can shake your hand.

Thanks Rob, yes it has been a journey. There will be a few more updates, the sides in the back and a few more other bits. I hope someday we can catch up

Looks so incredible. I do notice that you don't have the stripe going through the petrol cap. I feel that it should as ours did in the 70's but perhaps positioning varies from different dealerships. Jennie on r's iPad

I used a heat gun to contour the sticker into the recess for the fuel filler and will signwrite the missing stripes shortly. This way I will have colouer behind the edges of the filler. I hadnt got around to that bit yet

I won't have this problem as I'm running straight gas so decided to delete the fuel filler all together. Will fit a hinged no. Plate mount to the rear and hide the gas fill point behind it!

    Gaddy!!

BTW. Great job and thanks for sharing your journey with us Grunt!!

Thanks mate. Yes the flap would fix the stripe issue but I wanted to keep the fuel filler factory. Im going to brush the yellow and a small stripe of orange on there shortly

Yeah, I noticed that too. But that was always such a messy area with such a small amount of stripe on the cap in some cases that I wouldn't criticise someone for leaving it off (or fitting a chrome locking cap and avoiding the issue altogether).
