Yes im sure the attention to detail is a sickness, could have saved myself a lot of time if I didnt suffer from it

Did you drive home slowly because you really didn't want to stop driving?
I was a bit aprehensive on what people would think she was well recieved.

Yes mate it was a nice slow trip and im really liking the way it drives.

The jobs to do on her are coming to an end. I have the headling to put in and the side wall covers.

Im doing the headlining with a mate so that will be later but I can get a start on the side covers.

made up a template of the side and transferred it to some MDF

Some magnetic welding angles and metal held the panel in place while I measured and adjusted

I made up some mini Sandman stripes to decorate the side walls

I transferred the side stripes to another piece of MDF for cutting

Cut the stripes out and marked the backing sheet ready to glue down

I made up a heap of sample pieces trying the cut outs with and without foam, I decided to use the version with a foam over it to soften the design

The design was glued and taped into position

The foam was cut to shape and taped to the design

Grunt these are sensational posts. Thanks for taking the time to stop everyone now and then to take photos for our benefit!

I'm not sure if it is coincidence or purposeful... that bottle of beer seems to appear in a lot of your pics

Great build thread and good advice.

Wow I've just stayed up way too late reading all this, truly impressive. Would love the know-how to rip mine apart, but best left to the pro's I think, I'd get it apart and i'd never get it together again. Maybe when my van's 50 years old it'll be the time for a full resto, or maybe i'll give it to the kids to have fun with. Either way lots of future fun. Good post, learnt a lot!
