20K would pull it up dead for me. That's about the value in my eyes. The paint won't be perfect (even mentions it needs a bonnet). Roof lining needs replacing etc.
One thing in it's favour is it's an early HZ before those round horn buttons and god awful alloy wheels.
It's a neat Sandman and could be made to be extremely nice. Removing the stripes simply defeats the purpose in my eyes. Buy a Kingswood if stripes offend.
agree about the commodore rims being vile, but HZ only had the round horn buttons, this horn button is correct for HX and HJ only, horn button with Sandman in the centre is HQ
I think this van would be value for money as I know what they cost to restore

I didn't know the HZ only had round horn caps (is that fact?) If it is fact, it's another reason I don't rate the HZ as highly as the other model Sandmans.
Our yellow van has a round horn cap, it is 9th month 1977 the brochure showed a hz-hj horn cap, so maybe they used what was left of them up, HK will know but I was pretty sure of my facts...

As far as I am aware everything that used the sports wheel post start of HZ has a round cap. This includes the last of LX, UC, HZ etc. HZ brochure van is a HX I believe.
Looks nice. Not far from me either so i can go and have a look at it and get more details and more pics for anyone who is seriously interested in it.
