Dual fuel tanks - anyone tried it?

A mate had twin tanks on his Van. But changed it to be gas now instead of the other tank.

I had twin tanks in my 1974 HQ Ute, was a bit slow to fill but otherwise was pretty good. I rarely if ever filled them right up (and I was living in the bush). Gauge worked fine as they were always equalised, except you had double the normal fuel. Was very neat and basically could have been a factory fit if no one knew otherwise. When I was paying 36 cents a litre for fuel in 1982 it was okay.
