Not sure Blocker, not factory as far as I know. Maybe to fit exhaust/mufflers, usually run down that side, in that vicinity.
Truetrak is just a brandname for another type of LSD centre.
Have been looking for those scuff plates, they shouldn't be far off.

Update photo from last week but haven't had time to upload.
Kidney plates have been welded in and the structure looks far more solid.
That'll do the trick.

The Eaton True Trac are a very nice diff
I have one in my HJ, my 57 Stepside and about to put one in my 65 SuperSport Impala
Had them in a few cars before
Heaps nicer than Aussie cone style LSD, and way less harsh than a detroit Locker
A 10 bolt with a True Trac and one tonner axles is pretty bullet proof
I'm probably going 502 in my HJ van, and am confident the TrueTrac will handle it

Post Christmas update and plenty is happening.
Rims painted up - thanks to Ambientgoat for supplying an original - you're a legend mate!
Put some rubber on those rims a week later, something that will get me through the inspection pits come rego time.
Diff has been rebuilt, the gears were completely stuffed and beyond help so a complete new kit was sourced including LSD.
Next is diff and chassis painting, then marry it all up.
Coming along well Blocker, keep up the great work mate.
