a screwdriver to dig around it and then lotsa slipper stuff like wd40 or bolt off and then a big pair of vice grips locked on to twist and turn and a big hammer..dissy will be no good but at least it will be out of the hole..

Wow! So I started dismantling the 253. Every part and bolt is getting its own container.
This is my first engine dismemberment, so looking forward to learning.
It's a 253 from the 02/75 HJ Sandman, I hope to have this cleaned up and restored

dont ditch that fuel pump...
I wont throw anything , but that water pump looks knackered. I've spoken with a local guy about the motor, but I don't think he knows how bad it is but I am pretty set on getting this one restored.
