Was a competition prize or something. Maybe in NZ?
Not photoshopped. As was said, it was built for a radio station in New Zealand and auctioned for charity. It's called the Folden.

There is quite a bit of info about this car on youtube, including a segment on how it was built. I think it looks great.
HQ Glacier White Belmont Ute
Wanted Lanspeed accessories for Holden Grey engines, twin carb manifolds, extractors, rocker cover, 3 speed floor shift.
That is just wrong. I get the irony but still.
Would have looked better with a Camaro front.
The point of it was that the radio DJ's were sick of their listeners arguing about which Marque was better so they built something for everyone.
I agree though, a Camaro front on a HQ would be an interesting project. Anyone got a spare one lying around?
I just find it funny that they found a good Aussie/NZ GMH rear 3/4, but couldn't find a decent nose of an Aussie Ford and had to use imported US stuff! I bet the nose panels were all new repros. It is all HQ right up to above the front wheels. I bet if they tried they couldn't find a decent back 3/4 of an Aussie Ford either, they are worth too much to restorers as so many have been claimed by terminal rust there aren't enough left.
another case of oh dear, why? at least it all one brand though.
