holden hr panel van original 22,000 miles

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/holden-hr...item460f0732eb

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST ORIGINAL HR PANEL VANS YOU WILL EVER SEE. IT SPENT ALL ITS LIFE IN WESTERN QLD AND WAS USED SPARINGLY .THE BODY IS LASER STRAIT AND THE INTERIOR PERFECT. I ONLY HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND WATER PUMP TO REGISTER. THE MOTOR & GEARBOX ARE SMOOTH AND QUIET AND NOT A SQEEK OR RATTLE IN THE VAN. THERE IS SURFACE RUST ONLY IN THE FRONT CRN OF ROOF CHANEL FROM DUST SITTING IN THERE AND BTM OF PASSENGER GUARD. THE SPEARE WHEEL WELL IS LIKE NEW WITH THE ORIGINAL SPARE STILL IN THERE, AND STILL HAS CHALK MARK FROM THE INSPECTOR ON THE INSIDE OF DOOR. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL PLATES THAT ARE UNMARKED AND STILL GLOSSY AND WILL GO WITH CAR.I HAVE TRIED TO SHOW MOST ASPECTS WITH THE PICS OR FOR MORE INFO PHONE BOB 0410627280. CAR CAN BE INSPECTED BY APPOINTMENT. PICKUP BRISBANE AND PAYMENT BY DIRECT DEBT OR CASH. WILL NOT ANSWER TEXTS OR DOGGY EMAILS, USE THE PH NO SUPPLIED THANKS.

That is how many vans were done. Bodies could be made and painted 3-4 weeks before the front panels. You even had panels painted in another State 3-4 weeks later, by a different person with different paint stock and different guns in different conditions. This is why the best vans (in original paint) are Pagewood HQ vans as these were the only van bodies Pagewood made, and it was the only body plant to paint the front panels at the same time as the body. Panels were painted and whisked off to the assemblyplant to be re-united with the body.

This HR is a car to leave alone! I wouldn't advocate stuffing with it!

Great info there Byron What about models after hq, were they also painted at the same time or like you mentioned, at a different time and place? Very interesting!!

Yep, keep that old girl as she is. Jeebus we agree on something

It's a reasonably tidy old bus but I don't for one second believe the 22K miles story. Sure the speedo probably reads this. But I would want full service and vehicle history before I'd swallow.
Pity it was ruined by the Canopy Industries side panel glass and dodgy radio. The Premier bonnet strip isn't factory to the Van either, nor the bumper overriders. Still, a very nice collectible survivor.

Seeing as how the car is 45 years old how do you expect to see full service history....

This car was a genuine 13,000 mile car and the engine bay on the van looks comparable in the pics....even though I would like to see it in the flesh to be more confident
