Thread: Shed fridges..

    must admit, all this hype about energy usage is garbage, i have a pope fridge ($50 at a garage sale)1960 vintage and a new bar fridge with lots of stars on it.
    I plugged the 2 of them in for a week on one of those energy use things, and the big old pope used less power as the insulation is so much better than new fridges. so it only runs about every 3 hours for about 15 mins to keep it cool if not opened, and i bet it will still out last the bar fridge by double.

    Itis normally door seals on old fridges that let them down.

    Yes very true, the door seal was the first thing i replaced when i got it, as well as having the thermostat adjusted correctly.
    beer comes out at about 2.8 deg most of the time, but the bar fridge can range from 1 deg to 6 deg, very hit and miss on the thermostat.
