^^That one sat around for a while, 4/78 car sold new in 1979. Must have been either the 253 or the Antelope colour with 63V trim that turned buyers away. Or the lack of A/C in QLD, i'd say the dealer might have had to fit A/C to sell it or the owners got it cheap and fitted the air themselves.

That's a very nice example Innuendo. Very clean..one owner.. good K's..book's..and a good price. It's also not a bloody gas buggy, no need to rip all that out and patch up hole's.

It is a nice car, but will suffer on price only being a 253 and having aftermarket air fitted (which is almost as much of a pain to remove as LPG!).

Brisbane built, Melbourne sold! Whats the bet it was a Holden Executive vehicle and she was the second owner (after GMH)?

Then again, late 78 early 79 was when the second Arab oil crisis hit, may have been sitting for a while, 4/78 build means it would have been a 78 model, could have been heavily discounted!

Victorian zone office HZ's had to come from Pagewood, Acacia Ridge or Elizabeth as they stopped HZ production at the end of 1977 (and only did HZ vans and tonners anyway). It could be as stated, or it could be simply a matter of a dealer looked up plant stock or other dealer stock and grabbed the car for a customer. I didn't realise Murrumbeena was in Victoria until I looked it up!

Guys, '70's sedans do absolutely nothing for me. Shopping trolleys. (Outside of a HQ SS or HQ GTS)

But I understand that someone has to love them to keep them alive. This one like the other at the start of the thread look like worthwhile candidates.
Both are way over priced in my eyes, but then again I have no real interest in them.

Had they been Vans, well that is a whole other story!
The amount of these I pulled apart for Vans and cashing out for parts in the '80 and '90s was around 3 a week at one stage. All in my driveway!
I always detailed and sold on good ones that had their books though. Makes me remember the one owner L31 HQ Premier I bought for $400 with books from Port Kembla. Sold the next day for $2800.00 with a wash and detail (around 1992). Always loved getting a HJ-Z Prem or Statesman, the front end would be a 1 Tonner that afternoon (I had a waiting list).

I used to do the same (although nowhere near as many), but as well as sedans, Statesmans and wagons I pulled apart coupes and vans. Most of the parts went onto utes or tonners. I even had a wreckers licence when I lived on 10 acres. Coupe bodies went on to new homes, normally to repair crashed ones. Other bodies went to scrap metal. To me all sedans, vans and wagons were scrap, we were mainly only interested in tonners and utes. I knew a few guys that did volumes like you Innuendo, some of the good cars they pulled apart would make you cry! Same with City Spares in Newcastle, they'd wreck out at least 6 good HK-WB or LC-UC a week. I can remember the volume of good doors that went through that place, it was amazing even then what sedan doors went for. Lots of good stuff went onto taxis too as the bulk of the Newcastle taxi fleet back then were HJ-HZ's, with the odd sh!tbox like an XC thrown in.

Yeah, your the generation just after me. We were '70's Vanners and had no desire for Ute's or 1 Tonner's unless we wanted to move a fridge. The next gen coming through were all about Utes and Tonners (which I never got). Mind you, I didn't mind cashing in on the Ute/Tonner lovers by selling them as many parts as possible.
