What do you need from the auction?
three hubs, 2 wheels, and the dress rims, but depends on whether the rims we bought with the yellow van are in better condition than those, but thinking ..the ones with the Bridgestone in white writing are def better
Hey Jennie,
Not sure on this but aren't the dress trims of a square cut rather than rounded from the factory.
These would be good buying if you got them for the start price of $1000. They are correct for HX-HZ with the squared off trim rings and long tail Lion caps.

7/76 HX Monaro 4dr 308 4sp... Absinth Yellow and rusty as hell.. SOLD
3/77 HX Sandman Panelvan ... Absinth Yellow and rusty as hell .. SOLD
Prob a bit too much for us at this stage....didn't the description on them say HQ tho or are they the same...the spray painter told me that there were two sorts....one rounded and one flat, I have the ones of the red van only they are very rusty...you can tell me if they can be resurected when you are here:D
The rims are the same from HQ through to HZ but they are date stamped if you really want to get anal and made by different manufacturers. HQ had the rounded trim rings, not positive on HJ but HX and HZ had the squared trim rings.
Your original trim rings should be able to be re-chromed as long as the rust is only surface. Will have to check the ones I have as I seem to recall them being stainless steel like the HG GTS hubcaps..... :confused:

I know this Ebayer.
He is a member of our Van Club. :D
His name is Damo and a really nice bloke to match.
BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman
They are rusted through, the spray painter said not to soda blast them as they would blow holes through themIf you have any other ideas how to sort them...I am up for options.....
Agro is that the guy that I am dealing with or the one Absinth has suggested?

the rims are not the same from hq thru to hz....hq up to end of 73 was a canadian manufactured rim specifically taken from pontiacs...the centre star piece is more defined on its edges and you have stamping next to the valves on the outer edge...
74 on they are made by roh in australia and the stampings and date codes are under the tyre..the star section is less defined on its edges...
trim rings for hq are square edged...none are rounded edges...trim rings were also an accessory and not factory fitted equipment..
