Touche Greg.... (that's my old man moment for the week) :o The rounded trim rings are aftermarket accessories..... however... I am led to believe the squared off trim rings... Holden part No. 2823098 were a factory fitted optional extra on Rally type and steel 6.00x14 wheels the same as the radio, front and rear spoilers etc. if initially ordered with these options... or ... were all Holden accessories dealer fitted once the vehicle was delivered to the Dealership.

[QUOTE=ozbox;4504]the rims are not the same from hq thru to hz....hq up to end of 73 was a canadian manufactured rim specifically taken from pontiacs...the centre star piece is more defined on its edges and you have stamping next to the valves on the outer edge...
74 on they are made by roh in australia and the stampings and date codes are under the tyre..the star section is less defined on its edges...QUOTE]

As I stated.... they are date stamped and made by different manufacturers (therefor minor manufacturing differences) but essentially they are the same Rally II type rim on HQ through to HZ. Again if you want to get more anal HZ Rally II rims were colour coded on GTS.

I also just checked my parts manuals and there are actually three different part numbers for Rally II rims....
HQ...... part No. 492351
HJ....... part No. 9930999
HX-HZ..part No. 9942307

HZ also lists Wheel asm - 6.00x14.....GTS....part No. 9947521 which I take to be the colour coding of the Rally rim however it is not listed as a Rally type.
