Agree, I had my HK Brougham sprayed in 2pak, sanded and buffed - no peel. This is practiced a lot for those wanting the old smooth finish.

yeah bang on fellas. try wet rub and buff a van after being painted with 2k that has had a few days to cure. its far more work than you think. even if you get the peel out it will still be too shiny

So you spend all that money on panel and paint and you dont want it shiny cmon get in the 21 century in this day and age and with all the new products on the market and foam pads for buffing its not that harder than using acrylic and i know 2 pac will last
acrylic has had its time and not many spraypainters want to use it anymore cant say i blame them

they dont want to use it because it wont allow them to blow it down and walk away. acrylic needs many more coats and rubbing in between and then loads of buffing.

im not going to disagree, 2k is miles easier to use. it fills and lays down well. but its a biatch to cut and buff and is hard to match repairs ie rust spot ups etc.

these vans were far from perfect out of the factory. the shiny 2k just makes the imperfections pop out like a bloody beacon!!!

2k will only last as long as your repairs that are lurking underneath... the reality is that if you give a car a nice paint job you probably wont leave it in the sun and rain. it really wont matter how long it lasts. acrylic will last just fine

It probably would be fine chris but have a look at show winning paint jobs not only here but all over the world they are 2 pac
all the good european cars are all 2 pac today why because it lasts a hell of a lot longer than acrylic

gene you wouldnt even know if you were looking at a show winning acrylic paint job (either would I) if done properly they will achieve the same outcome. i was at a holden show as bassendean recently and there were countless gumps asking the owner of an EH ute if his paint job was 2K. his response... "no its acrylic and I painted it in the shed at home"
