I see, so after its decked and lost its numbers, and early topend fitted, is there any other external features that give it away, apart from 308 on the side of the block.

Cast number of the block and blank pads on both sides where 5.0L was on VN-VP. You'll probably get away with it, but letter of the law/rules says you can't.
