Yup, sent the apprentice down to buy some "compression" in the Black can, not the blue can. We need the high compression version!
Auto parts salesman said he was out of both black and blue but did have some cans of red compression. Apprentice borrowed the phone to ring and asked if it was OK to buy the red can compression?
Answer was no, they are only for pommie cars and to get back to the workshop.

A left handed screwdriver is another good one, or a painter friend of mine sent his apprentice to get a tin of striped paint. The apprentice asked what colours??

The long weight was a good one the hardware shop man new the go .so when he was asked he would instruct the guy to just stand there untill he serve a couple of other customers then send it back to work telling him that he had waited long enough.
It was usually carried at the time you had had enough of the employee and you want a brake
Seems a bid mean but it was all in fun

My son started work at the local IGA in fruit and vege , they gave him apples too stock the shelf , but told him that if they had a rattle to them they were not to go on the shelf. Very funny watching him with each apple up to his ear listening for the rattle , then putting them on the shelf , he did it for most of the morning before they told him the true story..
