Might be heaps of competition, but there aren't heaps of cars anymore! I'd easily get the following:

Complete running Z prefixed 308TH pattern, fan to flexplate - easy $750, possibly moe just depends on how good it is.
Power steer conversion with pulley, bracket, spacers, bolts etc - easy $350.
3.08 LSD, pull it apart and sell the centre and gears on Ebay for $350.
TH400, even not working as long as the case isn't cracked are worth $250.
    Set of 4 x 6" HQ-HZ rims with tyres - $200
Front seats for reco - $150.
HZ cabin harness, all complete - $100.
HZ quad headlight harness - $75.
Complete quad headlight front, with quartz lights, grille, surrounds, blinkers and bar all in OK condition but some rust - $300.

Plus heaps more stuff you could easily stick on Ebay and sell like console. A good set of complete HZ Premier stainless in reasonable condition would fetch $250, probably more if sold in pieces. The over-riders would sell for $200 for the set too.
And if any of the panels are still good, like front doors or even rear sedan doors, Gene you know how hard these are to find.

She's definitely worth it as a wrecker, even better if you wanted good bits for a resto on a HZ of some sort.

Yes you are right byron good doors are hard to get and some of those parts you have mentioned are getting thin on the ground but in the last couple of years the demand for parts has dropped off a bit
times have changed and finding cheap donors that arnt full of rust is another challenge

That is the key! A good rust free donor like this Premier with buggered paint like it has is worth heaps better money. I know demand for run of the mill stuff has dropped, but the demand for really good quality stuff is very high. You all see lots of my posts of good donor cars, like the HZ Kingswood that started this thread. Just to find all the good stuff it has on it if you needed all that interior and driveline for a 63C Sandman, all in one spot - its like a HZ mine! I still reckon if anyone is taking on the challenge of a full resto, the best thing you can do if you have the space and the upfront $ is buy a really good donor. Just for rust repair sections alone it is a great resource. And you can gradually sell off the bits you don't need like sedan rear doors as you go - there has been 2 x wanted ads on aussiev8 for sedan rear doors in the last week or so, easy $150-$200 sale for each one without advertising. I have 4 x HK Monaros and 2 x Kingswood sedans as donors for the resto of my yellow GTS327, 3 x of the Monaros are GTS's and two are near rust free. I'd be screwed without them as the yellow car need quarters, pillars, some inner panels, boot floor etc etc.

Does it have the trim in it still? If it does could you send me some pics Kingswoods with cloth trim are thin on the ground

Also of interest is that it is the highest Elizabeth body number that I have recorded before the VIN and Body numbers were aligned somewhere in the next 500 cars, Byron do you have a later one?

^^Once you are finished with it, if you don't want the tags for a shed ornament i'll put my hand up for them! I'm trying to build up a comprehensive set of ID tags for the whole of Sandman production. Trying to get at least a set from each month for each assembly plant. So far i've been able to sniff out a few cars with re-made tags and it is by having these sample tags it can happen. Always nice when the sample tags are cool drivelines to!

I've actually got earlier PSN's with the BODY number as the PSN. This one wasn't completed until early August whilst all the PSN's around it are in later July, so the body was built and painted the BODY tag attached but it was delayed going into the assembly plant for some reason, and that is where they assigned and attached the VIN plate, so it got a PSN later than the others with body numbers around it, and those with PSN's near it were already using the PSN as the body number.

I just realised I have a Dandenong assembled HX van with BODY number 241827-A.
