Can someone tell me if this is a correct grille badge for a hq sandman? I have seen others without the red outline around the lion...cheers people

Badge is correct. Obviously a Rare Spares repo. They do look a little odd when you see them in vibrant colours. Font is correct, design is correct.

This badge is correct - the red colouring faded pretty quickly on the originals!

BTW, the very early HQs had black & silver only - shown in this "oldholden" thread:

Hey Alien,
As per my PM , was an awsome car show , 90% of them looked like they were straight off the show room floor.
You Mexicans are sooo lucky with that sort of Muscle around..

Some of them looked better than showroom condition like that XY GT....you could see yourself in the reflection of the brake calipers
