I agree, $30k+ car. Add $7-10k for the same thing in HQ. You may buy that in a HX/Z for $25-30k, or if that HJ was a 253 in the same condition possibly sub $25k

I get the aftermarket/repro dash fascia but was that console top (the coin slot type) available in a '75 build vehicle? I'm with Innuendo on the exhaust tips. They might look more appropriate on a sedan or wagon, I know I went to great lengths when getting the exhaust fitted to my ute to actually hide them a bit.
I agree, it certainly isn't difficult to rack up some serious coin in a top to toe resto. The buyer/market will decide but I for one would jump at the van version of my ute (albeit an M21 and Belmont style door trims) if I hadn't just spent a wad of $$ on a late model toy for Mrs Taily. Vans are always going to pull better dollars, windows or not. I'm glad in many ways that in many ways what is old is new again as the market has moved upwards over the past three or four years.
Nunc est bibendum...
Looks like I eat my words re: dollars.... Just Auto add for 782's HJ ute

That ute has been for sale a while now what they ask for and what they get is two different things
What is the go with the first id plate it seems to be stamped by hand, the numbers are stamped from the face and the numbers don't seem to be the right size ect.
That is a normal Elizabeth HQ or HJ BODY plate, also normal for Pagewood or Dandenong vans.
It's not about what you can build for what dollars. The Van for sale is still short on maximum desirability in my eyes.
It might be worth more than $25,000.00 to somebody, but not me. It still needs in excess of 5G spending on it to make it (maybe a $35 to 40K Sandman).
WA prices are not reflective of what happens on the Eastern seaboard.
Also, what people spend on building is never likely to be returned when sold. I still say you'd want to get this one for between 25 and 28K for investment reasons.
This is my friend from orange HJ it is an amazing price very well restored and a shed find with no rust has been resorted in acrylic and has also been sold. I nearly bought it only we have to buy out our partner or retire which I don't think we can afford to do just yet. it went to someone in Melbourne ps I told him to sell it for more and I could have bought it for less, Ho hum
