    Very nice HJ Kingswood ute

In Ipswitch, no idea on price but first bid $6750.

Awesome original ute, just stick a 308 in it and cruise

i would have thought a HJ kingswood would have had chrome scuff plates?

anyway, i think you mean put a chev in and cruise...

Kingswoods didn't have chrome scuff plates. That's a Premier/Statesman thing.
I would have thought Chev also, but a good 308 it still better than the driveline the factory fitted behind them.

I can't remember off the top of my head re scuff plates, it may only be HX Kingswood onwards.

I suggested 308 as it would be an easy bolt in proposition with the 3spd column shift, and also allow use of factory items like V8 tailshaft and 10-bolt.

I meant bolt in factory items, so with a 308 and V8 3spd you could use a readily available V8 tailshaft and diff. If you tried to fit a Chev with the 3spd the box moves so you need a custom tailshaft plus mods to the crossmember to suit, and to legally Engineer/register a HJ with a 350 you are supposed to use the bigger rear uni as the HQ 350 powered cars did so a tonner rear diff would be required.

You could also option a 10-bolt in a HQ-WB behind a 6cyl, as a heavy duty diff. I've only ever come across one though, and only ever found evidence of a handful of others.

If you were going down the Chev route with this one you'd probably just use a TH400 anyway!

I think chrome scuff plates may have been an option on HJ Kingswood. I have an HJ Kingswood wagon with scuff plates, definately factory, the bloke I( bought it from over a decade ago) was the second owner, he had always said it was a Kingswood 'vacationer'.

Vacationer was an upgraded Kingswood. But yes, you could option the chrome scuffs on any model.
