HQ guages

This Ebay auction shows the back of 2 x HQ U21 guages:

Shows the 120mph/200kM/h speedo has picking code QA, and the tacho has QM. Clock is QL.

HQ broadcast sheet for a Sandman shows QM for the tacho and QX for the 140mph/225kM/h speedo.

Can anyone add any more codes?

The codes I have off the HQ XX7 broadcast sheet are (left to right looking at them from the front): QW, QM, QK, QX, RD.

Is the fuel guage in the right hand one? If it is this will explain the RD code, muct have changed when guage went from thermal to magnetic sender.

Left to Right :: Fuel/Oil, Tacho, clock if fitted, Speedo, Temp/Battery

I wonder what changed with the temp/battery guage by 1974 to make it have a different code?

Pretty sure the fuel sender changed. That would have changed the ohms of the gauge.

That was my original theory, but is the left hand intrument though with the fuel guage on it and it has a QW code. It is the RD one that intrigues me.

Was it as simple as a change in graphics on the face of the gauge . .?? I'll check i think i have some early gauges at home in the shed.
