Got these when I bought my decals from the Van council of SA. Their website has since disappeared. I think the guys name was Tony.

Ripped off...... I got the last set of DY2 decals in stock from Sandman Decals and didn't get any application instructions with them.....
Yeh no not our intructions. We will have a set ofcourse. "when i pull my finger out" haha.....
All going well should get a good start on the printing this week!!! please no hot weather!
Looking forward to seeing how the colours turn out. Don't forget to wash your hands.... LOL
Wow that's very strange bout the water/ detergent thing....
When applying mine i went to the local auto graphics shop for advice.
They said the tailgate was the hardest, i said i'd already done that, they said the stripes would be a piece of cake....
They advised me not to use any water/detergent as it can cause adheasion problems done the track if waters not 100% removed..
They gave me a few tips on how to remove and set them up before squeeging off dry.
This was my first attempt with very successful results....
Ive got two more vans to apply decals too which i now have no drama's about applying...
Nice to see other directions though.
Cheers Al

A mate of mine bought a set off of eBayand the instructions said NOT to apply with water and soap. They fitted perfectly and were of excellent quality. They were screen printed on 3m stickers. I am yet to buy mine so what is the difference in decal kits?
HZ Persian Sand Mk2 Sandman (under full restoration)
HX Chamois Monaro GTS
Grant posted a detailed application guide in his rebuild thread.
Thanks mate, I have seen Grants threads but what I am trying to find out is the difference between the fitting instructions. Some say use water and detergent, the others say DON"T! They appear to be virtually the same decals, screen printed on 3M vinyl. I am no expert but I would like to know the difference before I buy mine.

My tailgate decal was applied with a mixture of (I think) water and metho. My local sign guy did it in about 15 mins and removed all water mix and air bubbles with a squeegee. The advantage of using the water is so you can slide the decal into place for perfect positioning.
Before he did the tailgate, I have always applied decals dry, but you need to be careful to get them in the right place because they look stupid if they aren't straight (or have a load of bubbles trapped beneath).
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
