    HZ Sandy Ute restoration

    Hi there Sandy experts,

I have some questions to help with making sure I source the right bits first time around. I know my 77 HZ ute was factory atlantis blue with buckskin vinyl interior...trim code 1934 63V and paint code 567-30525

Did the front bumper have the rubber strip?

    what colour:
    - carpet?
    - dash pad?
    - metal section that dash pad attaches to inside of windscreen ?

Some info I've read suggests the dash pad and carpet should be black but this was talking about a torana so not sure if same goes for a sandy? My GTS steering wheel and dash facia are black and look to be the original HZ correct spec.

correct colour code/name for the blackout paint?

I'm pretty sure the engine bay, firewall, radiator support and inner guards were done in the same black as the black-outs weren't they? What about headlight surrounds, windcreen trim and grille?

Also is it possible to buy the buckskin paint (colour code?) for a centre console? I assume one would use special plastic/vinyl type paint?

My ute won't be original as far as engine, tranny, hardlid and wheels go (going to use 15 X7 & 8 GTS wheels) but otherwise I'm aiming to make it look original. I have all interior re-trimmed ready to go and underside/chassis are done as are suspension components, body is bare metal with minor rust repairs still to be done, have 6 litres of 2k atlantis blue ready to go...along with the decals

Apologies for all the questions and if there is a guide with this info in it rather than wasting everyone's time that'd be even better! Any help greatly appreciated, I'm most definitely an l-plater on this but keen as!

    Andy

Best to get hold of the hz disc for all the info on trim it tells you what colour goes where
headlight surrounds windscreen trim and grill are black
you can get buckskin paint for console to suit plastic
    thats all i know

Tuxedo black for blackouts. You can find the paint codes for the interior paint on here, but if you have a sample a good paint shop can mix it for you. I got some done in Dubbo last week.
Unreal to see a ute being restored!!
Pretty sure if it had buckskin trim the carpet was buckskin and not black.
Also think engine bay was black on some and body colour on others depending on where it was built.

Thanks guys for the info so far, I guess the HZ info discs would be available on eBay? I'm more a ute guy than van though would love a van one day...not enough pics of utes on here! Another quick question: is 60A trim code 'chamois'? Looking at the info on here it looks kinda light grey?

Will do Jim, I reckon the buckskin & atlantis blue will be a great contrast, can't wait to get it painted and put back together.

Probably more very late 70's or early 80's combo to be more correct. 1970's colours tend to be brighter, started to get less in your face by the end of the 70's.
