If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck.
You should get a ute an a canopy from amcat @thatotherguy

Might as well buy one done in Melbourne or elsewhere as you have to take it to Melbourne for the AMCAT conversion anyway (Like I did).
Part of the fun is buying some distance from home and enjoying the drive back. Melbourne to Adelaide is a nice short day trip. Fly in, drive home.
It says not available because they would prefer to do VE's. But they will do older versions in slow times at additional charge. We know of at least one that's been done since the change on the website stating that they were no longer available. I was told mine would be the last and that has proven not to be the case.
does the canopy add much weight? i would really like to drive one before i bought a ute and converted it.there was a really nice yellow ssz ute for sale over here recently and i thought a modern absinth van would be cool
Doesn't add much weight at all. Because a lot of Ute parts are removed. Removed are all the aluminum rails on both sides and tailgate, sail plane and third taillight along with the tonneau cover and cross support braces. You lose even more if you take the rear window. Of course it does still weigh a little more but I don't think it was more than 100kg which equates to a passenger.
I had a dig and found a Yellow VZ in my collection.
