Either way something dodgy went down at some stage cos the glovebox lid is a different colour. Which makes me think with that gone, plus the ID plate. Someone wanted to put it on theirs and claim it as a SM leaving me with nothing :(

Just to clarify its not becks ID plates missing. the two drivers side plates are there and all matches to the chassis number. its only the options code plate on the passenger side missing. When we got the van the previous owner said the tag was there hanging off one riviot for ages. he hadn't noticed it was missing untill i pointed it out when we were looking at it. Option plate or not it was still worth well more than what we paid for it we were lucky enough to here about it word of mouth before it was advetised and he was happy for us to have it knowing it would one day get restored properly. for now she sits in the dark waitting.

Send me the other tag info and I may be able to tell you what should be on the BODY plate. Will need a picture of the trim too.

I was told I could write to Holden and they would be able to give me a letter or tell me something more about it.

Bugger, it's a Dandenong built van meaning Elizabeth BODY tag. I can tell you everything bar the BODY number, assuming that it was M20 GV7. Trim looks to be 67V. I reckon who had it before you has taken the plate off as they though it didn't match the other tags. Chase them up, they may still have it, once they know it was correct!
Original BODY number will be around 203500-204000.

Oh poo. Oh well, nah the guy doesn't have the plate, he apparently said it use to be on their but when we picked it up it must have fallen off. Im hoping I'll randomly find it somewhere in the car but its highly unlikely
So how else could I tell if its a Sandman? I have the switch on the door for interior light, GTS dash, full head lining, we think its deaville blue, seat cap of 2 and weight is 1860kg and it has a 202. Anything else I have missed to look out for?

I'd be surprised if it isn't. Headlining and GVW just about nails it. Pretty rare thing too, being a 6cyl Sandman.
