An electronic ignition module and pick-up need a good earth to operate, so make sure it is clamping down at least firm. Is the accelerator pump on the carby working properly? Check for a decent squirt of fuel out of both barrels when you crank the throttle with the engine off. Is the choke flap working correctly? There isn't much to stop these old girls to be honest.
carby works fine. there is never any clicking to indicate a starter problem. its a factory v8 ute so i doubt its been messed with too much. dizzy is not loose but i will check wiring to it this arvo. getting plenty of fuel. the choke flap is always closed until the car warms up and it opens. is this right?
