    Holes in Drip Channels

    Ok Bob here you go,
    Can anyone tell me if there van has the same holes in the roof Channel, I have two 1978 HZ both Adelaide Build.
    I think it could be just an Adelaide thing. They are to precise to have been drilled later and on the van I haven't restored yet
    the original paint is in it.

    I did this to my HZ XU3 in about 1981, after seeing HQs & HJs gutters rusted or paint flaking, I presume it was a common thing

    cheers
    Max

    I think its very strange that I have two identical vans that were sold to two different people that did the same thing.
    But not out of the realm of possibility. I'm glad it was done, a very smart thing to do.
    Yes no rust in mine.

    No, long gone, about 1992. But still have the memories. Have never seen it again & have an idea it could have been converted to a ute

    Mine has them. It's so the water drains from the front of the gutters, rather then sitting their dormant.
    BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman

    Everyone drilled them out back in the 70's.... we all lowered the front and had the back jacked up with air shocks so the vans all had a lot of rake, thus water was always sitting in the gutters. I'm surprised there are any vans left now without holes.
    Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

    Our yellow van has them drilled, it was Adelaide built, red van doesn't, nor does the Green van. Maybe it was an Adelaide thing, darn good idea to stop rust. Can't confirm though as we have no history of our yellow van.
