Haha, hotdogs are great. My old HQ ute ran twin 2 1/2" pipes with a 9" hotdog both sides dumping out of the sills just after the doors. Current set up is a balanced 2" system out of generic extractors into straight through mufflers, finished off with 3" tips cut off level with the bumperettes. Sounds good and have never once been questioned by the local Constabulary.
Whoops, wrong quote... haha
"Agree with Taily on the Lukey. Stainless will make them a bit higher pitched though.
They are never too loud though. Most country ute used to just run short hot dogs. Seems all young country kids drive 4WDs now though."

Hotdogs....... cool.
There's no such thing as too loud, until you get told repeatedly by the cops.
I did it!...Yesterday the Van was passed on the Pitts and licensed. Today back to get the noise fixed. As you suggested Tally ,and others agreed, I have Extractors, twin stainless with no balancer and Luckey Glasspack. Vroom ......bark .bark. Bark.
102db Allien.
Coincidence that this thread showed up just as I pulled the straight throughs out and put hot dogs in to replace them...
Sounds loud. Idle and full noise. It'll only be a matter of time before I'm done, but I do need an excuse to take it off the road for some TLC.
