Can anyone help me with advice on what the compound that went between the door hinges and the body was? Or a good substitute? There was definitely something there once, probably spread pretty thin, and then just pushes out around the edges. Whatever it was seems to stop rust occurring between the hinge and the body. My parts are all clean and first coats painted now and ready to assemble, I'm thinking of using windscreen sealant, but it sets too hard I think, needs more elasticity?
