    Converting Old Points Distributor to optical

    Hi Guys,
    I have a new dual points Mallory distributor and was wondering if it were worth converting to optical with an e spark kit?

    I was having a browse on Summit and came across this huge list of e spark kits.

    Sorry no pics yet, i'll put some up as soon as i find my charger.

    Just wondering what sort of experience other people have had and will i need anything else other than the coil? It would make for a tidy conversion.

    I personally use a WB Dissy with an XD 351 rotor button and the standard small cap.
    Works a treat.
    BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman

    Plus an XD/XE HEI coil and you can use the original leads, otherwise you have to make up a special coil lead to suit the Holden coil.

    What is the benefit of XD 351 rotor button in the WB Dizzy?

    I've been told my WB distributor has too much play in the shaft.

    Options are to recondition my present dizzy or replace with a reco'd one or new replacement.

    Anyone have an R2R? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HOLDEN-el...item337b6a0fca

    So you can fit a smaller (points type) distributor cap on it rather than the larger two piece hobby as used on the blue motor onwards. Looks more "standard" and doesn't sit as close to the firewall.

    Standard HQ-WB Holden points distributor cap. Don't hold me to it but think from memory the Bosch part numbers are/were GB 786 for the rotor and GB 926 for the cap.
