    HQ seats and consoles?

Ok all you HQ guys, time for the next round of what may seem like dumb questions!

How many different types of HQ bucket seats are there? the reason for me asking, is that I've been given an HQ Kingswood, with bucket seats, the mate who has given it to me says the seats have large chromed brackets on the sides, but as far as he recalls no adjusters, and they flip forward? In his opinion, they're not GTS seats, because he has a set of those, and they have an adjuster as well as the flip mechanism. could they be LJ 2 door seats? I know they are similar in appearance. What should the Buckets from an HQ Sandman look like?

Next dumb question is the console, do the commercial consoles still have the ashtray hole with a blank-off plate, or is the hole deleted all together?

    Thanks, Scott.

I think early Q was flip forward, no headrest. Next was flip forward with head rest and finally wind forward mechanism like HJ-HZ. Others with more experience may be able to confirm.

'74 Van Buckets should have black wind adjusters. No tilt and no metal chrome. You shouldn't be able to confuse a HQ seat with a LJ Torana (completely different).
Console does not have a rear ashtray hole.

If they flip forward then they're no good to you at all. Send em to me and I'll make sure you get the right ones instead. I've got a late HQ kingswood with buckets.

So what are they? Early Monaro, I figured they may be something like that, but not having seen the car I can't be sure(it's out the back of Braidwood somewhere), and my mate's not a Holden guy so it really didn't matter to him.

Where are you, maybe we could come to some arrangement, I need quite a few bits!

    Cheers, Scott.

If they flip forward they sound like Monaro ones (which would be handy in my Monaro).

I'm in Canberra and have a farm just south of Bungendore. I grew up in Braidwood.
Send us a PM when you're ready. I'm sure we might be able to work something out. The Kingswood has a full 4 speed console too I'm pretty sure. I'll be out there on Sunday weather permitting, I'll try to snap some pictures if I remember.

It depends on whether it is a Belmont or Kingswood. Vinyls and patterns are different.

It would be a Belmont Byron, the vinyl and pattern don't matter, only the actual style of seat.
I'm not expecting to find a mint set of poo brown(39B) Belmont buckets saved away specially for me, so I'm expecting I'll be needing to get them recovered.

Absinth, I have added some photos of my seats. Belmont ute. Hope they help. Justin. My console by the way has hole for ashtray but has blanking plate.

Thanks heaps Justin, that's exactly what I was after!

I hope you dont mind but I've saved the pics so I can give them to the trimmer when the time comes, so they get the seams right!
I suspected as much with the console, but there's so little info on HQ ones I wasn't sure.

    Thanks again,
    Scott.
