    No rego labels in NSW

Not sure I like this idea. I know it's been in place now for a while. Just realised my hilux has been out of rego for two months. Maybe if you are super organised and have time to burn it works well. Otherwise it's a pain not having a label to remind you.

I had the same issue the other day with the wife's Subaru, bring em back I say. Apparently the new cameras in the NSW police cars mean they can check on the move, log and advise all sorts of information automatically. Watched four corners the other night with a story about how they operate along with certain traffic lights in Sydney tracking and logging you via the bluetooth in your mobile. Amazing/scary stuff.

If you lived in Sydney you wouldn't have lasted a day, a guy in the Monaro club payed his third party but forgot the rego , got pulled up the day after it expired and got booked, I've heard the police have them in the bush and have been having trouble where the farmers put the old number plates on there front entrances to the farm and a passing patrol car picks up it is unregistered. You see the cars sitting on the side of the road with slow traffic, they are picking the unregistered cars that have a registered name or known names that doesn't have a drivers licence. They are raking it in.

Don't you get a renewals, I pay them via the net as soon as they hit the mail. BTW if you have cars on historic registration, you are required to put a label on the windscreen.

I would have thought it was a good thing to be pulling unregoed cars and unlicenced drivers off the road!

Not sure how a rego label would remind me as they are always up in the tinted band on the windscreen.

They send the renewal, you pay it and then no problem.

I'm not a huge fan either but I do use their email notification/reminder system. Caught the boat trailer just in time!

I've actually left the old label on the cars to remind me as it is no longer an offence to leave them on after expiry.

Put the reminder date in your phone calendar. I still need the label on my truck and quite often go a couple weeks over. No one checks the label every morning before they get in the car.

Yeah I have 8 things with rego, work full time in a mine, run my farm on my days off, my wife works full time and I have three kids to look after. Oh and I live away from home 6 days out of 12. So as far as keeping on top of it all I am afraid the rego slipped through the cracks. No label does not help. Can't see why we accept having to do the rta book work as well.
