does anyone know the right carby part number for 6 78 hz 308 t400 ive removed mine to get rebuild but ive got 5or 6 spares that ican pick from also im getting prices from300 -450 for the rebuild from hume performace in the eastern states nothing much in perth any local guys recommend anyone apart from southside carbies hes stopped doing them thanks

I believe you want a 17057294. You'll find it on any late 1977 to possibly as late as early 1979 308 red motor. So Late LX (basically A9X), HZ, VB and possibly late HX as well.

There is a big difference between a reco carby and a reco carby that has been run on your car and tuned on a dyno.

If you are going standard, then finding an original carby that is right for the engine and getting it rebuilt is a good start though. Then get it fine tuned on a dyno later. WIll be costly though as it'll probably have to come apart for changes.
