    Firewalls and their difference

this lesson has been requested by our exhausted leader..or is that supposed to be exhaulted....he is only exhaulted if he puts more smilies up for me....

hq firewall stands alone because of its mechanical linkages for the carburettor..therefore having holes for bracketry ..note triangle in first pic and the second pic is over to the centre left of firewall for the mounting of another bracket..while i was at it i took a pic of the profile of the plenum chamber to bonnet joining line..beauty line as commonly known.
hq has square plug wiring hole on right side of firewall..first pic.

hj is this next lot of pics...also has square wiring plug hole but no threaded holes for accelarator as it has a cable ..small square hole near large hole is for the accel cable.[which i just noticed both pics have cables in them so you cant see the hole..fix that later]..note raised square centre left in firewall is blank..also took a profile shot of the plenum chamber for differences..

hx hz wb have the round wiring hole..there is other subtle differences but this is a basic rundown..

and just coz i can..the car i took pics of above had factory date code still on the bottom of the column and some chalk/crayon marks under the heater box on the firewall..[which is really only relavent to someone that wants to do a correct anal restoration]

chalk marks i believe are initials and was a quality control thing as not all cars have them..
the ry on the column has something to do with the style of column i think but not 100 per cent..
the date code is 14th april 1978..
is that what you wanted or you need details off tags?
tags gone to research if thats what you need.
