Thanks for your assistance HK1837, could you tell me though what BO6 was originally?

Ambulance pack. One of the Special Vehicle Packages available on HZ commercials:
XU3 - Sandman Package
XX7 - 10cwt Sandman Package
BO6 - Ambulance Package
B47 - Comfort Package
XU4 - 10cwt Passenger Vehicle Derivative Package
XW5 - Outback Equipment Package
XY7 - Special Appearance Feature Items
You could only specify one package on any one vehicle, that is why XX7 existed alongside XU3 (or in real terms why there was 2 x Sandman packages in '76-'79) as you weren't able to order XU3 + XU4 so they included XU4 (and B47) in XX7.
Thanks, you really are a Sandman guru! I wouldn't have know there was ever an Ambulance pack, or even a comfort package, there looks too have been many variants at the time...
I have seen a code of XR on the end of the model designation on a set of compliance plates , anyone know what that stands for.
HX and Right hand drive. Must have been a Pagewood bodied sedan, coupe, wagon, statesman or ute.
Thanks Byron, does that mean there were export models made in LHD out of Pagewood?
RHD yes.
Interesting, to South Africa?
Statesmans yes. Not sure about the others as many were CKD. NZ delivery seem to come from a variety of assembly plants, but some from Pagewood. Also to Malaysia, Thailand plus places like Fiji. HK's were made LHD for Hawaii too.
LHD 327 Monaro cruising in Hawaii would be confusing for the locals but very cool.
