    Go the Roosters!

    One for the League fans.

Great to see the mighty Roosters beat Manly on Sunday. I've been a Roosters fan since I can remember, I have early memories of the Roosters losing to Manly in the 1972 grand final. Always hated Manly, not sure why. Maybe it was that 1972 loss as a 5 year old. Or that most of the w@nkers at my school as a kid were Manly fans (funny that the worst offendets were Ford fans too....hmmm).
I guess if you are an Aussie Rules fan Manly appear to be the hated club like Collingwood.

I heard on the radio a surprising statistic. This century there have only been 2 x NRL grand finals that didn't have Roosters, Manly or Melbourne in them, so I guess it isn't surprising Roosters and Manly made it this year. Given the following stats this century even less surprising:

    Since 2000:

    Roosters 6 x grand finals, 2 x wins
Melbourne 5 x grand finals, 2 wins (2009 stripped for cheating on salary cap)
    Manly 4 x grand finals, 2 wins.

    Bring on the Club Challenge!

Manly was not given the fair rub of the green... haha Since when does a headbutt consitute fair play.... another penalty to the Rooters for the poor Manly forward rubbing his head and slowing the play down.
Ref didnt see the forward pass for SKD try either??

haha Nope us poor Manly supporters are always doing it hard with the Refs... Only thing that was decent was the recognicion of DCE. Pity he is a Queenslander but he was yards ahead of Mitchell Pierce all game. Rooters coach deserves the accolades with his attitude and game plans all year.

Manly didnt let us down and played tough I thought. They just were not on song all game. The Stewarts had an uncharacteristic quiet match.

Manly were good, great in fact I have to give them that. They played the whole 80min of the first final without a single line break recorded against them yet lost 4-0 to the Roosters. They played the whole first 40min of the first half of the grand final without conceding a line break except for one in the last 10sec that ended in nothing yet were down at half time. That is awesome defence in anyone's language, but the Roosters were better!

I was glad Roosters won by more than 6, because of that forward pass. But Manly got a lot of the ref's helping hand with a blatant strip of the ball in front of the sticks off JWH and a penalty try that was by no means a certainty (although it did save us 10min in the bin!)

DCE winning the Clive Churchill medal was the biggest joke of the year, they must have decided that before the game! He may have been manly's best but he wasn't the best on field. SBW was kept quiet in the first half but tore manly to shreds in the second half.
