It may have been a one off grille that didnt get the proper treatment prior to painting as it was the only one they had in stock at the time. I did point it out to the store salesman and he was surprised as well

So is it the finish or the fit that is the problem with the HQ grilles? I'm looking at getting one and as long as it fits, I'll be happy to play with dags or average paint.
