Just out of interest, Ive just had my toranas body all done. I know its not a van, but as a comparison anyway... It had rust in the usual places, plenum/cowling, door bottoms, rear quarters, guards etc... Getting all the rust cut out and new panels handmade and welded in etc cost me $4500. I did a bit of sanding then gave up when I realised i just wasnt gunna be able to find the time. I had a great local bloke do it for me, some in his shed and the rest at his workplace. With all panels/spoilers muckin around etc and at backyard job rates, it came to $8000. So thats $12500 right there. Theres more panel surface areas on a van but probably not as much messin around with flares/spoilers etc so that gives you an idea. Pretty hard to get away with less than 15k on a body resto these days.
