Hi , my name is Wally and have just joined. I am interested in buying a HZ Sandman and have photos of all the plates. Now, how do I tell for sure if it is genuine? Thanks Wal.

Put the details up here and someone will get back to you but there is tell tale signs on the body
full head lining was only on sandmans thats one
Not quite Gene. Kingswood had headlining too, plus rare B30 comfort pack on Holden van.
HZ's are often best picked by the ID plates.
Tags were originally on a HZ XX7 Sandman, and they all fit together well amongst others I have recorded. Tags have been off the shell (non-original rivets) so there is no way to tell for certain the body is original to the tags though.
Pretty rare-ish combination too. 1928 Madeira Red was a relatively short-lived colour, it was removed as an option in July 1978, I only have 5 x Sandmans recorded in that colour. Plus it is a top specification driveline (5.0L auto).
