If you went on eBay there is a green HZ sandman van on there first page. It was posted on here last week. There is some nice shots of slate HZ interior front and hood lining gives you an idea of just how good it looks. Cheers

I have 18v vinal and black hood lining. I've just retrimed it as original and I don't notice it being hot as I thought it would be. Saturday it was 38 and i parked in a car park for 3 hours and it didn't bother me. I do think the tinted windows helped. I'm happy with the vinal, much better than my postie bike which after 10 minutes in the sun will fry your bum. Your choice Will but it is much better than I imaged it woul be.
Yeah good advice, plus i'm in Tas so 38 degrees, i think not. Getting windows tinted now, so hopefully that'll help. Yeah the black looks nice on that green one Raeme, will make that happen.
Thanks much
If it was modified a while ago then it follows the trend of building a custom van.
You bought a van (sometimes it may have been a Sandman), then went straight home or to a mates place and started changing things to personalize it. Nobody wanted a stock standard Sandman, they all wanted to have a something that was built to their taste. I'm actually surprised that so many have survived in some form of standard trim. The Statesman front on Wills van was almost a required mod. And black vinyl seats? Every motor trimmer in the country was flat-out doing cloth inserts. And absolutely nobody kept the standard wheels. Mags went straight on and the standard wheels turned into hose reels.
Cool custom van, I like it.

Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
That is the firewall number. Chassis number will be on the ADR plate on the driver's side. Something like AHZ0xxxxS
Funnily enough the Chassis number will also be on the Chassis (Drivers side front rail near the steering box).
Yeah getting myself a bit confused with which numbers on what plates, there is one that says AHZ06910S, but thats on passenger side plate (possibly), can't check the car in person at the moment but will do as soon as i can.
Being a Pagewood build you should have a number also pressed/stamped into the firewall (it is not a plate).
and does the AHZ06910S match the actual number in the chassis rail?
